News from the Dominican Republic - Friday, February 2, 2007

Well, we're done!  We finished up this afternoon and cleaned up the job site.  Overall, we laid about 1200 blocks while our original plan was to complete about 800.  God multiplied our time and efforts again.  The glass crosses were completed, inlaid in the front walls of the church.

Another praise is that we made it through with no injuries other than a few bumps and scrapes.  A few men from the church stopped by after work again today to lend a hand.  There were a lot of hugs and thank-yous when we left.  It was a real joy to see the joy in their faces as they saw the work progressing.

Tonight we were rewarded with the annual run to Chime Hose'.  They serve rotissery chicken and 15 birds went down.  Afterwards we hit Bon for ice cream.  Pastor Ramon and his family were able to join us for dinner.  They have a new grandson, Jonathan.  He's a cute guy and I love to see Ramon's eyes light up when he sees him...the proud grandfather.

Tonight the crew is winding down with a wild domino tournament.  As we speak, Kasandra is beating Fred and Mark and Ad is brewing the coffee.

Please pray for us as we travel tomorrow.  We should get in to Newark airport by about 5pm.

Also, I will publish an additional page on this site as a follow-up with more pictures.  Also, I will add the audio for our devotions if anyone is interested.  I had some problem this week with slow internet connections and just focused on the pictures.

God bless and we look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.
