News from the Dominican
Republic - Sunday, January 28, 2007
We
joined Los Girolas for church on Sunday, and while we didn't understand
many of the words, it was clear that the Dominicans loved the Lord and
His name was praised. After church, we went back to the
Vallette's for lunch and packed our bags for the beach. The
bus
ride was 1.5 hours to go about 30 miles over the mountains, but the
view was woth it. We spent the afternoon swimming in the surf
and
had a few pizzas on the sand for dinner.
One amazing way God worked today was when Carol Light got swamped by a
wave. She lost here ONLY pair of glasses in the water.
We
searched and searched and then about 10 minutes later, Bob found them
by almost stepping in them! Talk about finding a needle in a
haystack!
We're back at the house now and there is a wild game of dominos going
on out under the veranda. Tomorrow we will be starting our
devotional time together, so check out that section of the web and join
us. Tomorrow will also be work day #1. Most of the
team
will head over to the church to start laying block while Bob will be
taking care of some projects around the Vallette's to help them get a
few plumbing problems squared away.
Please pray for safety as we work tomorrow. God has blessed
us with good health...keep up those prayers!
