News from the Dominican
Republic - Sunday, February 3, 2008
Today
was a great day in the DR! We started out by going to church is
Los Girsolas. I have posted some pictures below and a video of
the worship time. Since the service is in Spanish, we can't
understand the words but we know that God is being worshiped. The
best part of the service for me was communion. Again, we couldn't
understand the words, but we were served elements by a Dominican
Elder in the church who will one day worship around the throne of the
same Savior. We were surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ
who were saved by that same Savior. Thought the differences are
many, those that are there aren't really important in the end.
After church, the crew had lunch and some down-time for dominoes.
Then it was off to a baseball game. It's the Carri bean
World Series in Santiago this week and Rich got us some tickets to see
a game. Everything was going fine until it went into extra
innings and Joe had to miss most of the first quarter of the Super
Bowl. Kristen probably taped it and he can re-watch it.
We're looking forward to getting to work tomorrow. We'll be
pouring concrete for some steps and doing some electrical work.
Please pray for me personally as I visit the Compassion child that we
have been supporting as a family. You can see an update by
